The Cost of Rebirth
2024
Ceramic and Mixed Media Installation
This installation features two burning hearts projected in different directions. One heart, burning in the night, symbolizes the past, while the other, shining in the day, represents the present. Between them lie progressively charred cords and their ashes signifying the severed ties with the past, whether voluntarily or involuntarily. The heart at night continues to burn in the background as a reminder of what we’ve left behind or what has left us behind. This installation explores the tension between embracing change and holding onto the past, inviting viewers to reflect on the sacrifices and transformations that accompany personal growth.
